Turn on the light
I’m in this movie of life…
And the Director calls the shots!
LIGHTS ON!
I’m in a world full of darkness…
And it’s hard to see!
LIGHTS ON!!
I’m puzzled and disoriented…
And I can’t make up my mind!
LIGHTS ON!!!
Light seems to be the solution in the midst of a mess but join me as we get a message to hold on to. Actually 5 light lessons!
- Everything begins when there’s light
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. (Genesis 1:3-4)
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5)
Light is so good and of great importance that God would decide to lighten up the world before anything else. Hmm.. He not only deemed it fit to physically lighten up the world but He Himself being Light would show up on the scene before anyone else- talk about our knight in shining armour! It’s always God first before any other matter.
TURN ON THE LIGHT FIRST!
- Your path is easier when there’s light
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4)
O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD. (Isaiah 2:5)
It’s always easier to walk during the day than in the night. The path of life has stones, creepy things, twists and turns that makes travelling difficult unless light shines on your path. This light doesn’t merely give you sight but insight. This light not just highlights the ills but raises you on such a pedestal – the higher life that defies all odds.
TURN ON THE LIGHT AND WALK!
- There would be resistance
They are of those who rebel against the light; they know the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof. (Job 24:13)
In the dark they dig through houses, which they had marked for themselves in the daytime: they know not the light. (Job 24:16)
Isn’t it sad that there are those who would have nothing to do with the light? The sweetness of the light is not known to them. Yet, it is more disheartening that they would not want anyone to have any dealings with the light. We were all once like this but for light that shone in our hearts-that made a whole lot of difference! So be aware, not all are on the same page with you because they do not understand!
TURN ON THE LIGHT EVEN WITH NO FANS!
- Sorry! All the hiding places have been sealed up
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. (Matthew 5:14)
What do you do when you are in a relay race and the baton is handed over to you with crowds cheering and the finishing line in sight? Do you retreat or do you press on with every burst of energy? Hmm… talk about victory assured and you are the athlete carefully chosen to shine at just that time. So it has never been about being the head of that mega-ministry but it always is about shining just where you are!
TURN ON THE LIGHT AND SHINE!
- Nope! It hasn’t been all about you alone
Nations will come to your light and kings to the brightness of your dawn. (Isaiah 60:3)
Have you ever seen a room with the lights turned on and yet its contents are hard to see? That’s odd right? Remember, you now carry that torch. Light has consumed you and affected your surroundings. You first saw, now others see too. A great change happened to you and here you are causing changes.
TURN ON THE LIGHT AND BE A BLESSING!
The light switch only knows OFF and ON. It doesn’t sit pretty in the middle.
The world cries out in the midst of injustice of all kinds. The world needs Jesus ASAP!
The world can’t see JESUS. The world sees you.
I’ll go first- May Jesus be seen in me and through me. What say ye?
